Testline Pool Care services
Everything Testline Pool Care does, and what each service includes. The prices are on the prices and fees page.
Weekly full-service pool cleaning
Weekly full service is a visit once a week, every week of the year, including winter. Every weekly visit includes:
- skimming leaves and debris off the surface;
- brushing the walls, steps and waterline tile;
- vacuuming the pool floor when it needs it;
- emptying the skimmer basket and the pump basket;
- testing the water and balancing chlorine, pH and alkalinity;
- all routine chemicals (chlorine, acid and stabilizer), included in the monthly price;
- backwashing or rinsing the filter when the pressure is high;
- checking the pump, filter, heater and timer for problems;
- an email report with your readings and a photo of the pool.
Weekly service does not include a full filter teardown cleaning, repairs or parts, a green-pool cleanup, or an acid wash; those are priced separately. We do not offer every-other-week (biweekly) service.
Chemical-only service
Chemical-only service is a weekly visit to test the water, balance it and add the chemicals it needs, with the chemicals included, and to empty the skimmer basket. It does not include brushing, vacuuming or skimming. It suits owners who clean their own pool but want the water chemistry handled.
One-time pool cleaning
A one-time cleaning is a single visit with everything a weekly visit includes. It is for a pool that is not green, for example before a party or after you move into a house.
Green pool cleanup
A green pool cleanup clears algae from a green or cloudy pool. We shock the water, brush the whole pool, vacuum it and clean the filter. Most green pools are clear in 3 to 5 days. The flat price includes the chemicals and up to two follow-up visits in the same week.
Filter cleaning
We clean cartridge filters and DE (diatomaceous earth) filters. We take the filter apart, hose off or soak the cartridges or grids, check them for damage, and for a DE filter add new DE powder. We recommend a filter cleaning every 6 months, in spring and in fall, and we email weekly customers a reminder when one is due.
Pool equipment repair and replacement
We repair and replace pool pumps (including variable-speed pumps), filters, heaters and heat pumps, salt cells, automation systems, pool lights and valves. We work on Pentair, Hayward and Jandy equipment and most other brands. Every replacement starts with a free written estimate. We do not do gas line work: a licensed plumber has to connect a new gas heater to the gas line.
Acid wash
An acid wash removes stains and scale from plaster. We drain the pool, wash the plaster with a mild acid solution, rinse and neutralize it, and start refilling the same day. The wash takes one day, and refilling with a garden hose takes about 24 hours more. We balance the new water on the next visit.
Tile cleaning
Tile cleaning removes white calcium scale from the waterline tile with a glass-bead blaster that does not scratch the tile. The pool stays full during tile cleaning, and it takes about half a day.
Services Testline Pool Care does not offer
We do not build new pools, remodel pools, replaster or resurface pools, do leak detection, install pool fences or safety covers, or remove pools. We do not sell pool chemicals or parts to take home. We do not service commercial pools or standalone hot tubs.
How to prepare for a Testline visit
- Leave the gate unlocked on your visit day, or give us the gate code or a lock combination.
- Keep dogs and other pets inside or shut away from the backyard on your visit day. If a dog is loose in the yard, the technician skips the visit (see the missed-visit policy).
- Keep the water level at the middle of the skimmer opening.
- Tell us if you add any chemicals yourself between visits.
- For your first visit, show us where the equipment pad and the pool breaker are, or leave a note.
